Alrighty. So I'm hoping I can enter this in two contests. They both presented themselves nearly simultaneously. The first contest I ran across (I think it was through another entry) is being hosted by =eshkenazi. The prompt was a story her son came up with: Once there was a girl who was born from a stone and she had star for a heart. One day she met a boy and put her heart in his hands. And it was magic.

As I was putting together ideas for that contest, and trying to think of something unique, the idea of a mermaid and a starfish came to mind. So while I was looking for a good mermaid pose, I ran across a special stock image of `darkgoth. She is holding a contest to turn her into a mermaid or Ophelia.

So here's what I ended up with. Please, if you have any suggestions or constructive critique I would be happy to hear it. This is the most in-depth piece I've done in awhile.
